Tasting Notes - The 2019 Lonely Heart nose presents the vanilla aromatics of oak with a savory cured meat backdrop supported by tart fruit. On the palate, the wine lends a stewed plum flavor under tart cranberry and strong tannins with light herbal aromatics and a lenghty finish.

Winemaking Notes - For the 2019 Lonely Heart, we utilized fruit from Quintessence and Ciel du Cheval vineyards. Quintessence contributes intense primary, fruit driven aromatics with a rich and expansive palate. Ciel du Cheval imparts red fruit, floral and spice aromatics, and brings great weight and focus on the palate. When working with fruit of such extraordinary quality, we strive to elevate and support its inherent greatness without dominating the profile with heavy-handed winemaking techniques. Our goal is to allow the amazing qualities of the fruit to be freely expressed in the finished wine. Specific oak cooperage is thoughtfully selected to draw out the innate beauty and power in the wine without overwhelming the aromas and flavors. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is lightly pressed to barrel.
